Universal design refers to broad-spectrum ideas meant to produce buildings, products and environments that are inherently accessible to both people without disabilities and people with disabilities.
ALOHA Founder and President Russell Long has personal experience with the concepts behind universal design as his son was born with Cerebral Palsy and uses a wheelchair.  The design for their remodeled home to better suit the families needs garnered them national recognition from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. 
"I had 4 separate renovations to be designed and built for a disabled daughter in a wheelchair.  Russell Long, of Aloha Homes, was ingenious with creative design solutions(and drawings) to solve our accessibility needs.   We hired Aloha 4 separate times on 4 consecutive jobs.    1.  Replaced Doors with new models that added accessibility and safety with a creative magnet latch. 

   2.  Designed and installed a quality custom support / control grab bar, that was specific to the client's personal needs.

   3.   Repaired and reactivated the dormant therapy swimming pool.

   4.  Researched, ordered and installed lighting system so client could control indoor and outdoor lighting from personal smartphone (for safety and convenience).
